      the concrete 3D printing automatic reinforcement patent invented by the Institute of Cement Science and New Building Materials was awarded the silver medal at the 2023 International Invention Exhibition.

    In May

      the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council released the special assessment results for 2022 of "Double Hundred Enterprises" and "Demonstration Enterprises of Science and Technology Reform" affiliated to central enterprises. The three reform pilot enterprises under CBMA achieved excellent results. Among the "Demonstration Enterprises of Science and Technology Reform", Harbin FRP Institute was recognized as a benchmark, while Shandong Industrial Ceramics Research and Design Institute was rated good; among the "Double Hundred Enterprises", Sinoma Advanced Materials also performed well.

    On October 30

      the high-performance fused cast refractory materials for glass solidification joule furnaces developed by Ruitai Technology were successfully delivered at the Xiangtan Branch of Ruitai Technology. This delivery marks a significant milestone in China's key technology and process for the glass solidification joule furnace lining materials for high-level liquid waste of nuclear waste, overcoming the previous limitations.

      CBMA received the first prize in Technology Invention of China Non-Metallic Minerals Industry Association (CNMIA), the second prize in Science and Technology Progress and the second prize in Youth Science and Technology Innovation for its work on the Technology for Preparation of High-Performance Cement Clinker Using Calcium Silicate Nonmetallic Ore Raw Materials and Its Industrialization Application, the Research and Development and Engineering Application of Low Temperature SCR Denitration Catalyst in New Inorganic Non-Ore, and the Key Technology and Typical Application of Electromagnetic Wave Absorption Functionalization of Nonmetallic Mineral Materials.

      the reorganization ceremony of CBMA and Sinoma Advanced Materials was successfully held in Beijing.

      the first ferric aluminate cement concrete pouring with the largest single volume was completed in China, and the pouring volume reached 1172m³. Ferric aluminate cement concrete technology has been successfully applied in Zhangzhou nuclear power project.

      the Long March-2F Y15 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou-15 manned spacecraft blasted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.       the standard, ISO 13837:2021 Road vehicles - Safety glazing materials - Methods for the Determination of Solar Transmittance, led by China, was officially released. The revision of this standard was done by CTC, assisted by China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) and Fuyao Glass Industry Group.

      CTC changed its name from "China Building Material Test & Certification Group Co., Ltd." to "China Testing & Certification International Group Co., Ltd.".

      the Office of the Leading Group for State-owned Enterprise Reform of the State Council announced the special evaluation results of reform and innovation of 195 "Demonstration Enterprises of Science and Technology Reform", and Harbin FRP Institute Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CBMA, passed the special evaluation successfully.

      CBMA’s low-heat cement played a pivotal role in the construction of Wudongde Hydropower Station, the world's first ultra-high arch dam built with low-heat cement concrete for the whole dam.

      the bionic lobster eye focus lens developed by the Research Institute of Specialty Glass Fiber & Photoelectric Functional Materials under CBMA was first applied to support the deep space exploration industry in China; the 310AD aviation clock developed by the Horological Institute was successfully applied to the AG600 amphibious aircraft; the tank bracket and cylinder support independently developed by the Harbin FRP Institute were successfully applied to the Long March-5 carrier rocket.

    On January 3

      a carbon fiber composite attitude control engine support bracket developed by CBMA was successfully applied to Chang'e-4 lunar probe to ensure a soft landing on the far side of the moon.

      the opening and cooperation signing ceremony of CNBM (Zaozhuang) New Materials Industrial Park was successfully held in Zaozhuang, Shandong Province, and the intelligent production line of image light guide recognition materials was officially launched and put into operation.

    In October

      CTC transformed 8 Chinese national standards, including Cement Chemical Analysis Method (GB/T 176), into Mongolian standards, making the first instance of China's building materials standards being exported.

The name was changed to China Building Materials Academy Co., Ltd.

      CBMA won the title of "2017 Annual Demonstration Academician Expert Workstation" awarded by the China Association for Science and Technology.

      the meeting at which the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission celebrated the complete success of the Shenzhou-VII manned space flight was held grandly in the Great Hall of the People. Representatives from CBMA and its affiliated Harbin FRP Institute and Horological Institute of Light Industry attended the meeting. As an important supporting component development unit of Shenzhou spacecraft, our institute has participated in the development since "Shenzhou 1" and undertaken the development of six important components.

      the State Key Laboratory of Green Building Materials was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, making it one of the first 36 state key laboratories of enterprises in China.

      China's first independently developed lunar probe, Chang' e-1, was successfully launched. The Harbin FRP Institute produced the directional antenna deployment arm for the Chang'e-1 satellite, which provided stable and reliable support for the data antenna.

      China's first cement kiln external decomposition and firing process line, undertaken by the Building Materials Science Research Institute, was completed and put into trial operation in Siping Xinsheng Cement Plant, which reached the design standard after one year of production testing. On October 29,1977, this process line passed the ministerial technical appraisal jointly organized by the State Administration of Building Materials and the Jilin Provincial Infrastructure Office in Siping, Jilin province.

      the oil burning test of cement calcination kiln was successful in the Building Materials Science Research Institute.

      the float glass test team of Luoyang Glass Factory, with the Institute as a team member, participated in the test and tried to pull out plate glass with a thickness of 3mm and a width of 1.36m.

      our institute selected Siping Xinsheng Cement Plant in Jilin Province for the intermediate test of decomposition outside the cement kiln. The project was included in the key technical measures plan of Jilin Province.

      Taiyuan Plate Glass Factory, Qinhuangdao Glass Factory, Shanghai Yaohua Glass Factory, Qinhuangdao Glass Design and Research Institute, and our institute worked together to produce plate glass with a thickness of 2mm and a plate width of 2.4m using the non-channel process.

The scientific and technological personnel who moved to the Cement Room 2 in Gucheng, Hubei province and the three research offices in the western suburbs, and the "May 7" cadre school in Banqiao, Henan province returned to Guanzhuang to rebuild the institute into the "Building Materials Science Research Institute of the National Construction Commission".

      the Glass Ceramics Research Institute successfully copied China's first piece of aviation bulletproof glass. Vice President Zhu De visited the Research Institute again.

    In April

      the Building Materials Industry Research Institute successfully developed China's first quartz glass;

    In October

      the Building Materials Industry Research Institute successfully trial-produced China's first alkali-free glass fiber;

    On November 12

      Zhu De, Vice President of the CPC Central Committee, Vice President of China and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited the Building Materials Industry Research Institute and observed the glass fiber test.

  • In 1954
    In January

      the "Building Materials Industry Test Institute" of the Building Materials Industry Administration of the Ministry of Heavy Industry formed by the merger of Beijing Research Institute and Shenyang Research Office was moved to the new site of Jingdong Guanzhuang (address: Guanzhuang, Eighth District, Tongxian County, Hebei Province). On May 24 of the same year, the Ministry of Heavy Industry officially issued a document for approval.

      the Building Materials Industry Administration of the Ministry of Industry of Northeast China was merged into the Building Materials Industry Administration of the Ministry of Heavy Industry, and the former Northeast Technology Research Office was renamed the "Technology Research Office of the Building Materials Industry Administration of the Ministry of Heavy Industry of the Central People's Government".

    In December

      the Institute of Building Materials Industry Administration of the Ministry of Heavy Industry successfully developed the cement air-entraining agent.

  • In 1950
    On October 1

      the "North China Kiln Industry Company Research Institute" was established (address: Xuanmaxiawan, Huashi Street, Chongwenmenwai, Beijing), which is the first building materials scientific research institution after the establishment of new China.

    On December 29

      the North China Kiln Industry Company affiliated to the Ministry of Heavy Industry was canceled and the preparatory group of the Capital Construction Bureau was established. The former North China Kiln Industry Company Research Institute accordingly changed its name under the Bureau.
